The venue of ISNM 2005 to Cyprus is expected to attract the European nanomanufacturing industry, with traditional strengths in metrology instrumentation and manufacturing equipment. The conference will also invite European Commission representatives, to present collaboration opportunities for international researchers in their Framework Programmes 6 and 7. In particular, the thematic area on Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences, Knowledge-Based Functional Materials, New Production Processes and Devices, as well as ICT of FP6 is expected to be analyzed by EC Program Officers. Support for participation of international researchers to the European Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence through the Marie Curie actions for human resources and mobility is hoped to be presented as well. Further support to the conference is proposed to the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, and the University of Cyprus. International industrial supporters to be invited include Samsung, Axcelis, Honda, Cisco, P&G, GE, NCMS, NNFC and KIMM of Korea etc; professional societies including CIRP, SME, ASME, IEEE, MANCEF etc; and federal agencies such as NSF, JRC and ESF.

Best Poster Competition

A poster session contest will be organized in the area of nanomanufacturing. Up to 2 grants (up to $1000/person), named after supporting sponsors, will be awarded to cover the travel expenses of the competition winners. Awardees will be gleaned from a pool of competitors: postdoctoral students, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates. Winners of best poster competition will also be sponsored to present their work at popular international conferences.
